IOPC P&I Club SOLAR 1- NDCC presentation

SALVAGE OPERATION UPDATE
September 13, 2006 11:26 AM

A presentation was made by the International Oil Pollution Compensation Fund and the Protection and Indemnity Club to the National Disaster Coordinating Council based on the report from the survey vessel Shinsei Maru on September 12. According to the report, Solar 1 is deeply immersed in seabed and is in very stable condition. Additionally, the structural condition of the vessel is "very unlikely to change to cause further release of oil into the environment."
