Off Shore Cleanup

As soon as Petron was notified of the sinking of Solar 1 on the 12th, oil spill gear and equipment were immediately mobilized and oil spill teams were put on alert. The next day, an aerial survey was conducted by Petron with the PCG and the PAF to assess the extent of the oil spill. On Monday August 14, Petron started its clean-up operations together with the PCG. Oil spill dispersants, pre-approved by the PCG for application, were used to disperse the fuel oil on the sea so that it would not cause additional damage to shoreline areas.

Oil containment and oil recovery operations offshore were likewise conducted.
